+ WHAT IS AN ESCAPE ROOM?


Escape rooms (or escape games) are live-action, fully-immersive adventure games where you and your fellow players have an hour to break out of a room by finding clues, cracking codes, deciphering riddles, and completing puzzles. Each LockBreaker Escapes room has a unique theme and storyline with specific puzzles wrapped into that storyline. The time it takes to solve each room can vary greatly between groups, while some groups don’t complete the room at all. Working together as a team will increase your chances of success.

+ ARE ESCAPE ROOMS SAFE?


Why? Who’d you bring with you??? 😉 There aren't many other activities you can do where no one else is with you except the people you came with - you and your friends or family. And we build our rooms with safety in mind. We also have protocols in place around Covid 19 to ensure the health and safety of our customers and staff.

+ WHAT AGES ARE ALLOWED?


We try to be fun for all ages, but escape rooms vary in themes and complexity. While our current rooms aren’t geared for small kids, they still have a blast in them and it’s amazing how many of the clues they put together because of how they look at things. If you're looking for a unique family activity in Bellingham, this is a great option! Kids 5 & under are allowed free of charge, but must be closely supervised. Kids 6 and up require a ticket purchase. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Ages 15-17 can play without an adult, but a parent/guardian must sign the waiver.

+ DO YOU OFFER SAME-DAY BOOKINGS?


YES, depending on availability. Click the "BOOK A ROOM" button on any page for a full schedule and availability.

+ DO WE NEED TO BRING ANYTHING?


Everything needed to "break the locks" to our rooms is provided, just bring your friends and your mad puzzle-solving skills.

+ CAN WE CHEAT?


Really??

+ CAN WE TAKE PICS/VIDEOS IN THE ROOM?


NO!!! I mean, we all hate spoilers, and we're sure the last thing you’d want to do is spoil any aspects of our rooms for future players. Don’t be that person. Therefore, we ask that you limit this to still photos of your group only so we can preserve the experience of solving our puzzles for future players. Video recordings are strictly prohibited and after the first (and only) friendly reminder, the game master will stop the room and you’ll be asked to leave immediately. And that’d just be a bummer for everyone--including us. 🙁 That being said, you’re more than welcome to take as many pictures and videos as you’d like within the lobby area. 🙂

+ DO YOUR ESCAPE ROOMS MAKE FOR A GOOD DATE NIGHT?


Yes! We only do private bookings and have a two person minimum. So if your looking for a great date night activity in Bellingham, look no further. It’ll be a fun and unique one!

+ WHY DO TICKET PRICES CHANGE BASED ON THE QUANTITY? WHY DOES MY DATE NIGHT COST MORE PER TICKET?


A very common practice in the escape room industry is to keep accepting bookings to a room’s time slot until it’s filled to max capacity. Obviously from a business standpoint this makes more money, but we respect your bubble and only want people to be in the rooms with their peeps and not strangers. It’s just more fun that way. Typically if you wanted to do this, you’d have to rent the entire room capacity. It’s our way to keep your booking private, while covering our overhead.

+ WHAT ARE YOUR RESCHEDULE, CANCELLATION, AND OTHER POLICIES?


Deposits:

Placing your booking will charge your credit card a $60 deposit. We are only open based on bookings to reduce our overhead and your ticket costs. As such, Canceled or Rescheduled Bookings may result in the loss of this deposit. This is to cover the costs of labor for your Game Master and other overhead. See our Cancellation and Reschedule Policies below.

Cancellation/No Show Policy:

Canceling your booking must be done the day before your booking to get your deposit refunded. Cancellations made the same day of your booking will result in the loss of your $60 deposit. This applies to bookings made the same day of the booking as well.

Reschedule Policy:

We get it, things come up. You can reschedule your booking to another available day & time. If done at least 1 day before your booking, there will be no fee. If rescheduled the same day of your booking, a $30 fee will be added to the total cost of your booking.

General:

For safety reasons, players are never actually locked in any of the rooms.

This activity has potential risks including but not limited to:

Use of simple tools; Mental stress and anxiety; Possibility of falling objects; Potentially moving or lifting objects of not more than 30 pounds; Being in a reasonably small space with your group; Possibility of failure to escape the room in the allotted time; This room may contain special effects including brief flashes of light, brief loud noises, simulated smoke, and other elements such as scents and misted water; Other potential elements of the escape room experience.

The following conditions will result in players forfeiting their booking, without a refund:

Physical or mental illness that precludes participation in a safe manner. Being under the influence of drugs or alcohol which impairs the ability to maintain safety, awareness, or endangers others. Use of excessive force or causing damage to the rooms or props. Video recordings showing the experience and puzzle solutions. No parent/adult signature for minor waivers. No adult present for children 15 and younger.

+ WHAT ARE YOUR COVID-19 POLICIES?


We take COVID-19 seriously and are following all state mandated protocols. Fortunately, due to the nature of escape rooms, the risk is low compared to other events outside your house. You're only in our rooms with people you're already hanging out with--no strangers. Our protocols include:

  • Airing out the rooms between groups
  • Wiping down the smooth contact surfaces and props in the rooms that COVID can survive on with disinfectant at least once a day
  • Masks required for our staff and customers as mandated by the State of Washington
  • COVID vaccine is required as a term of employment

+ ARE WE REALLY LOCKED IN A ROOM?


For your safety, our doors are never physically locked, and you can leave the room at any time. Now, escaping from an unlocked room would be pretty boring, so the rooms are event and goal-based, where you and your team must find a specific item or complete a specific task to break the “lock” and beat the room before time runs out!

+ WILL WE BE IN A GROUP WITH STRANGERS?


Stranger Danger! We wouldn’t enjoy escape rooms as much if strangers were in our bubble, so we don’t expect you too either. Your bubble is safe with us.

+ HOW DO WE BOOK A ROOM?


We book PRIMARILY online. You can also call our office number and we can help you with booking an available time. Although we have set hours, we only schedule around our bookings and are not always there to answer the phone. Just leave a message and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

+ WHAT TIME SHOULD WE ARRIVE?


Your group should arrive about 15 minutes before the time of your booking. This gives you time to stow your belongings in a locker, use the bathroom, and what not so you don’t start your booking late.

+ WHAT IF WE'RE RUNNING LATE?


For the satisfaction and safety of our guests, the booking times are carefully planned to include resetting and cleaning the rooms between each game in time for the next group. If you arrive late, that time will be deducted from your booking. Meaning, your booking end time will not change and you’ll have less time to solve the room.

+ WHAT HAPPENS IF WE GET STUCK?


While we want this to be challenging, we don’t want it to be so frustrating it takes the fun out of it. The best way to “break the locks” and solve the room in time is to communicate well with your group and to work quickly. If the game master (who sees your every move…not as creepy as it sounds…) sees that you’re stuck they’ll ask if you want a clue. You can also simply ask for a clue from the game master. They hear your every sound…

+ WHAT DO WE GET IF WE ESCAPE IN TIME?


Well, we’d love to give you a cookie, but the licensing to serve food gets difficult…But you do get the satisfaction of escaping our room! You and your group are entitled to bragging rights for all eternity. Well... as long as our leader board still exists. Yeah, bragging rights…

+ HOW HARD ARE YOUR ROOMS?


We can adjust our rooms to be easy enough for first time escape room players and children. We can also set them to be challenging enough for experienced players looking for new adventures outside the Seattle escape room scene.

+ IS ALCOHOL ALLOWED?


No. Nor any controlled substance for your safety and that of our rooms. Plus, you're going to want your full brain capacity to solve our rooms. So save happy hour for after your booking, whether to celebrate or drown your sorrows depending on how you did.

+ WILL THIS BE A GOOD ACTIVITY FOR MY SPECIAL NEEDS CHILD?


We’ve been very pleased to find that our escape rooms make for a great activity for children with various special needs. There are many things we can do to the rooms and how we run the game to handle a variety of situations.
